The President noted that 2025 will be the “Year of Improving Pump Efficiency” in water management.

Now, more than 1,600 pumping stations use 6.8 billion kilowatts of electricity to irrigate 2.5 million hectares of land in the republic. In 2017, 8.3 billion kilowatts were used on 2 million hectares. It was shown that 20 percent electricity can be saved by installing an efficient pump and solar panels on the basis of private partnership. Officials were instructed to put Jizzakh and Namangan main pumping stations on international tender in a transparent and attractive manner.
